Introduction
The Malaysian Cosmetics & Toiletries Industry Group (MCTIG), operating under the aegis of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), was established in 1989 to articulate the interest of the industry. Serving as a channel for feedback from the industry to the government and vice-versa, the Group had been making appropriate recommendations to the government on policies and issues which affect the industry as a whole. The service that the FMM provides for Industry Groups include;
Objectives
- Foster collaboration among Malaysian industry players
- Support industry growth by advocating for policies on industrial development, economic incentives, market protection, and other relevant measures
- Serve as a communication bridge between the cosmetics & toiletries industry and the Government
- Gather and disseminate relevant industry data for the benefit of members
- Represent the industry's interests at the ASEAN and international levels, including active participation in the ASEAN Cosmetic Association
Main Activities
- Organising seminars and briefings on current topics (e.g., Halal certification, regulatory changes, government incentives)
- Coordinating trade missions (e.g., international exhibitions, business matching, buying missions)
- Engaging with government agencies on regulatory and policy matters
- Hosting Members' General Meetings every 3–4 months for updates and dialogue
